The Library adheres to CONTU (National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works) as well as to the Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Academic and Research Libraries (http://www.arl.org/focus-areas/copyright-ip/fair-use/code-of-best-practices​) to interpret fair use.

In some cases, license agreement restrictions define how the Library may use content and may preempt copyright fair use.
