Why statistics?

Statistics help us identify trends and evaluate outcomes. Most often this information is collected on a national level through government agencies and is published publicly online.

UN data Provides access to a large number of statistical databases compiled by United Nations member countries for 70+ years covering a wide range of themes, including crimes, education, employment, energy, health, industry, refugees, tourism, trade, and more. Has country and regional profiles.
UN Demographic Yearbook
Official Document System of the United Nations Database of full-text, born-digital U.N. documents published from 1993 onward, including documents of the Security Council, the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and their subsidiaries, as well as administrative issuances and other documents. Also includes scanned documents published between 1946 and 1993.
Country Studies E-book versions of titles previously published in hard copy as part of the Country Studies Series written by a team of social scientists around the turn of the 21st century. Outdated but useful for historical country studies.

Profiles of Pennsylvania, 3rd ed.
