Special Topic: York Race Riots

Between 1963 and 1970, York Pennsylvania experienced heightened racial tensions as a result of police violence and discrimination. Years of protests were met with complaints of police brutality, bombings, and inter-gang violence. in 1969, violence resulted in the death of Lillie Belle Allen.
