Why use Summon before Google Scholar?

Summon lets you limit your searches to specific kinds of sources (books, journals, magazines, etc) and provides options to filter results by both subject and discipline.

If you're looking for film criticism, you're going to find that you need much more than what is available in just library databases.

It's still a good idea to start with searching library databases to see what films and topics have the most criticism available, but then we can use the same keywords to search for criticism on Google Scholar.
